My rates for this type of music are the same at $70 per hour. However, this style of music is much less time consuming to record, mix and master. It typically involves recording a band playing together, then maybe spending a little extra time on vocals, or a few other extra instruments.
To add some perspective, producing other genres, such as modern pop can include programming each instrument individually, spending time on sound design and effects, stacking layers of vocals and harmonies, and meticulously editing every part. Each one of those things can be time consuming, and none of them are required in a simpler production style.
Not every band or musician is the same, and even different songs by the same artist can have different production needs. I'd be happy to give a free consultation where we can discuss the best approach to getting the sound you are striving for.
